Autograph cost Availability and prices are only a guide and a best estimate. It is not always
known exactly how many of a particular autograph actually exists. Prices
vary due to specific rarity and desirability, condition, item on which the
autograph is signed, historical significance, and supply and demand.

1.5 51- 150 dollars in determining the actual cost of any item.
2. 151- 250 dollars
2.5 251- 500 dollars All estimates are in U.S. dollars.
3. 501- 1000 dollars
3.5 1001- 1600 dollars A 'signed cut' means a simple piece of paper or 3 x 5 index card signed by
4. 1601- 2500 dollars the boxer. Signed letters, checks, and other significant paper items are
4.5 2501- 4000 dollars usually higher in price.
5. 4001- up dollars
A 'signed photo' means an 8 x 10 inscribed photo for Marciano and earlier
(Exceptions- Walcott and Schmeling.) and uninscribed photos for
post-Marciano boxers.
Inscribed photos by boxers after Marciano would go for less unless they are
a number 3 scarce or greater, uninscribed by Marciano and earlier would go
for more. Photos of a size smaller than 8 x 10 usually go for less.
A cost range of a 3 to a 3.5 for example would indicate that an autograph is in between these ranges and
would probably be the upper part of the 3 range, and lower part of the 3.5 range. Maybe 800-1200 dollars
for instance.
A wider cost range of a 4 to a 5 for example would indicate that an autograph changes hands so infrequently,
that it is very difficult to gauge what it might be worth in the open market. Some early challengers like
Charley Mitchell, Gus Ruhlin, Jack Munroe, Jack Palmer and others are hard to pin down as to their worth.
Many times the two people involved in the transaction decide what to buy and sell it for without any recent
sales information to go by. For this reason prices may fluctuate wildly.
All input on prices is welcome. Please let me know if you believe a price range for a specific fighter is grossly out of line.
