Agreement made and entered into this seventh day of January 1909 between John F. Seiz of the city,
county and state of Kentucky party of the first part, and Marvin Hart of the city, county and state of
Kentucky, party of the second part,
Witnesseth:-
Whereas, the party of the second part has made application to the party of the first part, to employ
the service of the party of the first part as manager, and has offered to place himself under the charge
and management of the party of the first part, who shall have sole and exclusive charge of the professional
engagements of the party of the second part.
It is agreed between the parties hereto as follows:
The party of the first part agrees to manage and arrange all the professional engagements of the party of
the second part, for the term and period of one year beginning from the date of this presents: to make all
contracts for sparring exhibitions and pugilistic contests. For and in behalf of the party of the second part;
to look after the financial interest that may accrue to second party, as a result of any contest or exhibition,
to be arranged as afore-said; party of the first part agrees to properly prepare and render the second party
in condition to enter such contests or exhibitions all pugilists and contestants to be selected and agreed upon.
The party of the second part agrees in consideration of the foregoing, and the sum of one dollar lawful money
of the United States, to him in hand paid, at and before the enscaling and deliver of these presents, to place
himself under the exclusive care, control and management of the party of the first part beginning from the date
of these presents and continuing uninterruptedly for the period of one year. During said period the party of the
second part agrees to enter into and perform any match, sparring contest or exhibition arrange for by the party
of the first part, and to take place before any club, association, theatre, or place of amusement at any place or
places in this or any other country that may be arrange or contracted for by the party of the first part.
The party of the second part especially agrees, that during the term and period of this contract he will not enter
into any contract to box or spar, either privately or in public exhibition, or enter into any sparring contests or
exhibition, without the written approval and consent of the party of the first part; and he further agrees to
perform all engagements and contracts made for him by the party fo the first part. It is agreed between the
parties hereto that all moneys realized through exhibition or contests shall be divided seventy five per cent
should go to the second party and twenty five percent should go to the party of the first part.
